Ditahun 2014 ini, Volkswagen (VW) Indonesia kembali meluncurkan produk untuk pasar otomotif nasional. Tak tanggung-tanggung, VW menghadirkan Golf GTI generasi ke-7 dan Scirocco GTS.
Tangerang Label GTI sering terdengar di dunia otomotif. Beberapa pabrikan mobil menaruh label tersebut di belakang nama model yang diproduksinya. Namun bagi Volkswagen VW, GTI berarti lebih meskipun label itu juga dipakai oleh beberapa merek mobil lain. "GTI itu nama idaman. Sudah iconic," kata CEO PT Garuda Mataram Motor Andrew Nasuri di Tangerang, Selasa 3/6/2014. "Anak-anak yang menginginkan mobil, pasti GTI. Bahkan bagi mereka yang memiliki mobil untuk pertama kalinya, pasti inginnya GTI. Dan maksudnya pasti Golf GTI," lanjut Andrew. Bagaimana tanggapan anda mengenai artikel ini? Golf GTI pertama Mk1 diluncurkan pada 1974. Kemudian Mk2 pada 1983, Mk3 pada 1992, Mk4 pada 1997, Mk5 pada 2004, Mk6 pada 2010, dan Mk7 pada tahun lalu. Namun ada juga Golf yang bukan GTI. Rully mengatakan biasanya Golf yang bukan GTI dikenal dengan Golf TSI. Ada beberapa perbedaan dari segi fisik, kata Rully, yang bisa dilihat dengan mudah antara Golf GTI dan Golf TSI. Grill depan Golf GTI selalu ada list merah. Kemudian terdapat lima lubang di peleknya. Lalu Golf TSI hanya punya 1 knalpot. Pintu Golf TSI selalu empat pintu. "Jok kulit Golf GTI selalu bermotif sarang lebah, sementara Golf TSI polos. Tentunya secara mesin, GTI selalu cc. Kalau Golf TSI, mesinnya cc atau cc," tandas Rully.
